Noor Salaita Artwork on Display at Distinction Gallery, Escondido
Noor Salaita was born in Escondido, California and has spent all their life up to now in the area. Noor works in a variety of media including charcoal, acrylic, graphite, watercolor, and straight out the camera photography. A love of art resurfaced during Noor’s first year of community college thanks to the support of a long-time professor and experienced artist.
Anatomy has always been an interest, so Noor fixated on figurative drawings and paintings as well as hands. Discovering unique ways to crop figures in art has become the focus in portraits. The complexity of hands and variety of ways this can be utilized in art drew a continued interest in illustrating them. Noor’s photography focuses upon finding creative ways to play with lighting and surroundings without the use of any post processing.
